Concerned with the cultural amnesia and entangled histories of the United States and the Philippines, I am interested in material culture and anthropology as a tool to examine both historical and contemporary representations of the Philippines. In parallel I navigate my own contemporary experiences there as a Filipino American. The vocabulary of this body of work comes both from turn of the century ethnographic collections, personal souvenirs and photographs in the Philippines, and the language of contemporary travel and leisure.
